Jay Lake lives and writes in Portland, OR. He has been hailed as a future Grand Master by Locus Magazine, while his books have received starred reviews in Publisher's Weekly and Booklist. Jay is the winner of the 2004 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, and multiple nominee for the Hugo and World Fantasy Awards. He has books forthcoming from Night Shade and Tor. Jay speaks regularly on the writers\' conference circuit as well as at conventions, and to school and community groups. Typical topics include Breaking Into Writing, the Art and Craft of Being an Author, and How Fiction Influences the World Around Us. Jay is happy to consult with the press as needed, and asks only expense reimbursement for appearances with nonprofit and charitable groups. Jay is a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America.
