Bio
I'm a full-time English instructor at Oakland Community College and have been studying and teaching Science Fiction now for many years. I am a member of the Science Fiction Research Association (SFRA.org) and over the past few years I have presented a paper at their annual conference. This year, my paper will be on Michael Bishop. I have also published several reviews in the SFRA Review. I am also a voting member of the Hugo awards. I am interested in facilitating book groups that focus on science fiction or fantasy stories, novels, and film. Moreover, I can lecture quite effectively on the different eras of science fiction history: Classic SF, the Golden Age, New Wave, Cyberpunk, and Hard SF Renaissance. Likewise, I can lecture on or conduct a group discussion on a particular author. Lastly, I'm a quick study, so if I am asked to discuss a writer or subject I am not familiar with, I can still put together a pretty good program. Fees: A group discussion will cost 75.00 per hour. A lecture will cost 100.00 per hour.
