Dr. Robert Piccioni is a physicist, educator and high-tech entrepreneur who explains the exciting discoveries and intriguing mysteries of modern science to general audiences. He presents Real Science to Real People. His motto is: you don't have to be a great musician to appreciate great music, and the same goes for science. Robert is the author of Everyone's Guide to Atoms, Einstein, and the Universe, which makes the key concepts and discoveries of modern physics, astronomy, and cosmology accessible without "dumbing" them down. Everyone's Guide explores the real facts behind the headlines and sound bites. He has a B.S. degree from Caltech, a Ph.D. in high-energy physics from Stanford University, and was a member of the research faculty of Harvard University. He led eight high-tech companies that produced CT-scanners, cancer therapy equipment, high-tech aids for the disabled, semiconductor fabrication machinery, bone densitometers, and devices for endoscopic surgery. He holds several patents in medical, semiconductor, and smart energy technologies. Robert has given over 50 presentations to a variety of general audiences and currently teaches adult education programs at Cal. State Channel Islands. His course titles include: "Einstein for Everyone", "Stars, Energy and Black Holes", and "Our Universe: the Known and the Unknown." Robert lives in between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. His presentations can be adapted to an audience's interests and time constraints.
