I'm a member of SFWA and have published one fantasy novel, Firethorn, and am working on the second in the series, forthcoming from Scribner whenever I can finish it--I hope it will be out in 2007. The first book was well-reviewed (http://firethorn.info/ftreviews.htm) and was included in Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of 2004 lists from both Borders and Amazon. Firethorn is about a female camp follower, and I'm very interested in the subjects of women in wartime, medical practices in the past, caste and class divisions in society, and magic. Here's the official short bio: Sarah Micklem has made a living as a graphic designer for the past 20 years. She wrote her first novel, Firethorn (Scribner, 2004), while working as an art director for children's magazines in New York City, and she is now working on the second book of the Firethorn trilogy. She lives with her husband, poet and playwright Cornelius Eady, in Indiana and New York.
