The English Department at University of California, Riverside, offers
a sequence of advanced undergraduate classes on science fiction,
fantasy, and horror under the general number 179. 179A is a History of
Science Fiction, surveying the field from Wells to the present; 179B
is a History of Fantasy and Horror LIterature, surveying the field
from Poe to the present; and 179T is Topics in Science Fiction, whose
content differs with each iteration. A future class is planned on
Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Film and Media under this number
as well.
