AboutSF News--20 June 2010
AboutSF has had quite a busy summer thus far, both in the Kansas City area and elsewhere.
Over Memorial Day weekend, AboutSF's new face was debuted simultaneously at three conventions/conferences: ConQuest in Kansas City, MO; Balitcon in Baltimore, ML; and ALA in San Francisco, CA. Some form or another of the portable teaching workshop (which is newly downloadable under ouf "SF Teaching Workshops" link) was presented with great success at each of these gatherings, and many new fans joined the burgeoning AboutSF community.
And speaking of community, there are all kinds of new features available at AboutSF.com. You may now upload you own profile on the Speculation Speakers database, upload your own workshops and plans through the Lessons Library, and leave comments on the already existing content on AboutSF. You can (and should!) create your own profile, giving basic information about yourself and any site, project, or link you're affiliated with, and you can stop by to talk to people on the forums, if you're an alumnus of the Intensive Reading course or any of the SF writing workshops offered at KU each summer.
And speaking of these courses, it's that time of year again! Writing workshops are about to begin in full swing, and the Intensive Reading Course begins in July, culminating in the Campbell Conference, this year occurring on July 16-18. Look for our press release in the UDK and the LJWorld, as well as on the main page of AboutSF.com
We're still tweaking the site comprehensively and updating and improving every day--keep checking back for more content!
