About Us
AboutSF, founded in 2005, is the educational outreach arm of the Center for the Study of Science Fiction and is a joint-project of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Science Fiction Research Association. Our mission is to encourage librarians, educators, and individuals to promote, teach, read and share Science Fiction, the literature of speculation and change.
On our site you can find teaching resources, information for individuals wanting to learn more about SF provided by the Center for the Study of Science Fiction, a service for finding and promoting speakers on speculative literature topics, a growing collection of film clips, the AboutSF podcast, and information on becoming a volunteer. Information on donating or requesting donations of SF literature is also provided. Author and poet Scott Green also maintains and regularly updates the SF Poetry section of the site.
