About Us

AboutSF is a resource center for speculative literature, science fiction, and education. We are a joint project of the University of Kansas, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, and the Science Fiction Research Association, with generous support from Tor Books, The Heinlein Prize Trust, and several individual donors.

Our projects include:

  • Providing an online, college course in science fiction.

  • Providing lesson plans and course outlines in science fiction literature for a variety of areas at the primary, secondary and university levels.

  • Hosting a speaker search to help educators find authors and thinkers willing to present material on speculative literature.

  • Facilitating literature donations to libraries and youth centers.

  • Sharing educational success stories related to SF.

  • Coordinating volunteer efforts across the speculative fiction field.
